TWD: Chunky Peanut Butter and Oatmeal Chocolate Chipsters
Fortunately, this week's cookie challenge was really easy, and ammounted to basically throwing stuff in bowls and beating it. The substitutions I made were as follows:
1. Raisins for Chocolate (As suggested by Dorrie)
2. Whole wheat pastry flour for White flour.
3. Cut the sugar in half. (Which still left the cookies really sweet... was it the raisins?)
Yum! I loved my cookies. I wanted to give some away, because the recipe made 48 large cookies. But like many other tasty concoctions, these cookies looked best all hidden away, tucked in baskets where no one could see their craggy, raisiny depths.

What great packaging! I wish I tried the raisins too, they sound like such a great addition!
Lovely cookies! I think they would lovely with raisins.
I thought the cookies were very sweet, too, and I used no sugar added peanut butter. They look good!
Nice! I think I'd prefer these with raisins to chocolate chips. I didn't think that the chocolate in the original recipe really added anything great. Great job!
Your cookies look great! Definitely meant for sharing.
damn that looks yummy!
teanna- thanks... there's always next time for the raisins :)
nickki- glad you liked!
jodie- I guess our taste buds are too healthy
cathy- yeah, I kind of felt like the raisins went well with the spicing of the cookie. They had a lot of cinnamon!
rebecca- I will share with you!
josh- we should hang out, and I can palm some cookies off on you.
I like the idea of less sugar actually. I will have to give that a try next time. I think I might even prefer the raisins as they go better with the peanut butter and oatmeal mix, do yo think?
Yours look delicious!
Next time I would cut the sugar as well as the butter. For half my batch I used raisins and dried cherries and liked them better than the half with chocolate. Went better with the oats - the chewiness matched or something.

I agree, they were plenty sweet. Nice cookies!
Yeah, I thought raisins went better, especially with the cinnamon flavor... but wow, I never thought of using cherries! Their tartness must have been great!
Thanks for the nice comments!
Wow I can't believe how creative you are... :0)
Did you give away those cookies? You are one kind woman! Hehe. I love how cutely you've packaged them.
