cherry and celery cobbler- oops!

Pre-baking... mushy balls of love. yum! Another Tuesdays with Dorrie looks like it's going to be delicious. I made a date with two friends to share cherry rhubarb cobber and possibly to get a look at their new baby. The baby fell asleep, so we fell to the cobbler. We scooped out some ice cream... and scooped out some of this:
Isn't it pretty?
But... the rhubarb didn't cook all the way. So while it tasted good, some of the rhubarb had the consistency of celery. Oh well- my friends still liked it. And me. That is the most important.

That's definitely what's most important - that you liked it. Looks beautiful despite the undercooked rhubarb!

I'm not a food scientist, but I believe that rhubarb and celery are close cousins in the culinary world and I know their texture is very similar. Glad your friends enjoyed the fruits of your efforts!

I had the celery texture issue too - but it's a beautiful cobbler, which distracts!

Your cobbler looks very wonderful! Can I please dive in and eat from the middle?

I didn't get to use rhubarb :(..season has been over a while now, but sorry to hear yours did not cook all the way. Still great though that everyone enjoyed it!

I look forward to your post next week!

Nice-looking cobbler! Too bad about the rhubarb chunks. Some other folks cut it up into smaller pieces and maybe that would have helped.

I needed a longer baking time as well. But it looked lovely!
